It may be alcohol or drugs, poor judgment or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but let’s face it: young adult crimes happen. I know what you are going through. I have kids of my own. You spend your whole life sacrificing for them, being good parents and investing maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars on schooling and/or other activities. And now this.
First and foremost is the trouble they are in and what got them there. There is no doubt some criminal penalties they face and they may have deeper problems which got them into the trouble in the first place.
But then there are the long term and more secondary problems. Background checks, continued attendance at schools or jobs. Getting certain licenses or maintaining them. All the time and sacrifice made by you (and them) is now put into serious jeopardy by a bad decision.
